1.Brief about Deen Dayal Awas Yojna
Deen Dayal Jan Awas Yojna is an ambitious policy launched by the Government of Haryana in 2016 under the provisions of Section 9A of the Haryana Development and Regulation of Urban Areas Act, 1975. The policy aims to fulfil to Prime Minister Awas Yojna’s (A policy launched by Central government to provide affordable housing for across the nation) vision by building 2 lakh affordable houses in low and medium level cities and towns in Haryana by the year 2022.
The projects built under the policy must fulfil certain requirements to get approved by the government. All projects must be built on a minimum of 5 acres and a maximum of 15 acres of area with 9 meters of road in the colony. The maximum Floor Area Ratio of two and total ground coverage can’t exceed 65 per cent. The maximum area allocated to a plot must not exceed 150 sqm and density may vary from 240 to 400 persons per acre. All these projects must be completed within 7 (5 2 years) years of the grant of license.
The policy comes with certain benefits of its own:
1.Home Loans – Under the Deen Dayal Jan Awas Yojna, people who wish to buy a house can get up to 100% loan on construction and up to 80% loan on plots.
2.Amenities – The policy promises different amenities like complexes within the societies, stilt parking, 9-meter roads, etc.
3.Certified projects – All the projects under the policy must get certified before they start selling. The government ensures that every project fulfils the guidelines in accordance with the policy.
4.Affordability – One of the focus of the policy is to provide affordable housing to everyone.

The Government of Haryana has launched an Affordable Plotted Housing Policy for Low and Medium Potential Towns also known as Deen Dayal Jan Awas Yojana.
