Deen Dayal Jan Awas Yojna  is an ambitious policy launched by the Government of Haryana in 2016 under the provisions of Section 9A of the Haryana Development and Regulation of Urban Areas Act, 1975. The policy aims to fulfil to Prime Minister Awas Yojna’s (A policy launched by Central government to provide  affordable housing  for across the nation) vision by building 2 lakh affordable houses in low and medium level cities and towns in Haryana by the year 2022. The projects built under the policy must fulfil certain requirements to get approved by the government. All projects must be built on a minimum of 5 acres and a maximum of 15 acres of area with 9 meters of road in the colony. The maximum Floor Area Ratio of two and total ground coverage can’t exceed 65 per cent.
